Even until a few years ago, inclusion of a specially produced Lipid, powder or liquid, for Animal Feed preparation was considered “Optional” and even “ Luxurious” by many. Times have changed. Uncertainty in availability of raw materials, fluctuation in available energy of traditionally used grains and ingredients, and most importantly Usage of high-energy feed feed for growing animals faster and balancing their required energy levels at various stages of rearing have made it imperative that energy supplementation is done by way of a Feed Fat at a level advised by the nutritionist.
Can this be done by just any kind of fat or oil which are regularly available? Regretfully no, depending upon the species, their ability to digest fat within its passage time and other physiological limitations, the fat used has to be customized so as to maximize absorption, digestion and utilization of the energy. So a single formulation may not suit all species.
